Hello everyone, hope you guys can assist me... Windows7 x64 Ultimate - LG BH12 Blu-Ray drive has developed a problem. If I put a disc in the drive, the drive title changes in Windows Explorer to indicate the disc title, so that's working OK. AutoRun pops up, and offers to show you the files, etc. If you try to view the files, you get a popup message like this: Location is not available D:\ is not accessible Access is denied. This is a new PC I built about 2 weeks ago, and the drive has worked fine up until just now. Here's the interesting thing: if I open a Command Prompt with Administrator-level privileges, or if I disable UAC, I can see the drive and access it with no problem. The research I've done on my own shows others with this problem but no good solutions yet. It appears to be permissions-related; I've verified that my account is still and Admin account. When I go into the properties of the drive, then Security / Advanced / Owner, it says the current owner is "Everyone". If I Edit this, it does not let me assign a new owner (tried my user account, as well as Administrators group). I've tried uninstalling the drive and re-detecting. I've updated firmware on the drive. I ran "sfc /scannow" and nothing was found. Also ran the Fix It program, but that didn't detect any issues. I'm running out of ideas. How about you? =) Mike

Hi, Ok, this issue would be caused by too many reasons, I would suggest several methods as following show: Method 1 1.StartRuntype regedit 2.Find the location in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CD Burning\StagingInfo\Volume{XXXX-XXX-XX}, check the data of StagingPath, ensure the data in StagingPath is C:\Users\xxx(your currently account name)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Burn\Burn If nothing else, please add above data 3. Dont need restart computer, you can try if this method can be useful. Method 2 1.StartRunType services.msc 2.Find the service name Shell Hardware Detection right click it, select Stop option. 3.Restart computer to check if the issues resolved. If not, restore that service to Automatic. Method 3 1.StartRunType gpedit.msc 2.Local Group PolicyUser configurationAdministrative Templates Windows Components Windows Explorer 3. Find the setting named Remove CD Burning features and double click it. 4.Choose Enabled than click ok 5.Restart your computer and to try, but this solution would cause your DVD lose Burn function, if you want it, just choose Disabled option. Finally If all above methods seem no useful, the problem may be your disc, as the reason that this disc can only be write once, if erase action happened in this disc previously, it would casue the permissions problem.
